Try a Spending "Fast"

You can fast to lose weight.  Can you go on a “spending fast” to save money?  Yes you can; here’s how it works:

Pick a day, or a weekend, to go on a spending “fast”.  Plan ahead so that you can go the entire day or weekend without spending any money.  That means you can’t eat out, or go to the movies, or do anything that costs money.  To be successful, plan ahead.  What will you eat?  What will you do?

Packing a lunch and going for a hike costs nothing.  Watching a movie on TV costs nothing.  Even better, go visit family or friends.  You don’t have to spend your weekend at the mall, or at a restaurant.  Make a plan with your family or friends to have a “spending free” weekend, and put the savings in the bank.
