If you can afford to make a payment plan with a collection agent, great, do it. But if you can’t afford what they are asking for, don’t agree to what they want just to get them off the phone. Making a promise you can’t keep will only upset the collection agent, and make them even more aggressive next time they call. It is better to offer what you can afford, than to promise something that is not realistic.
