If you have lots of debt, you need to take an aggressive approach: play to win when it comes to dealing with debt. You can play to win, or play not to lose. With debt, it is often better to play to win.
Some people avoid their creditors, and hope their debts will go away. If you have no assets, and don’t have a job, that “play not to lose” strategy may work. But if you have a job, and don’t want to have your wages garnisheed, doing nothing and hoping for the best is not a great strategy.
A better option is to deal with your debt head on: play to win. Review your debt management options, pick one, and take action. It may be a consumer proposal, or some other solution. You must decide to take action; if you do, you will solve your debt problems.
