Our final tip in Credit Report Week: Old credit cards are good credit cards.

One factor used in calculating your credit score is your credit history. The longer you are able to manage revolving credit, the better you look. So, if you have a credit card that you haven’t used for a while, use it, and pay it off in full on time. That counts towards your history.

If you don’t use a card for an extended period of time the card issuer may cancel it, so using it occasionally will help with your utilization rate, and keep your credit score high.
