Are you considering personal bankruptcy? Rebecca Martyn, our trustee in bankruptcy in Windsor, will be happy to meet with you in our Windsor, Ontario office to review your options.
Rebecca Martyn opened the Windsor bankruptcy office of Hoyes, Michalos & Associates in 2003, in the historical old Walkerville post office.
Over the past few years Windsor has seen a lot of changes. Unfortunately, overtime shifts have been reduced at some companies and other companies have closed. Even more companies have laid off employees. Being a border city, we also see people in trouble due to the decreasing exchange rate with the US dollar. Only a few years ago the exchange rate was 1 US dollar = $1.40 Canadian and has dropped as low at 1 US dollar = $1.10 Canadian.
When you first call Rebecca, she will ask you a few general questions about your situation such as how much you owe, and do you have any secured debt such as mortgage, car loan or furniture loan. She will also ask you about your monthly take-home (net) income. You also need to tell her about any assets you have, such as RRSPs or investments.
You do not need to complete any forms before we will book you an appointment. We will be happy to book you an appointment as soon as you call. When you meet with Rebecca in person, she will discuss your debt with you in detail including the pros and cons of each option. She will discuss the different kinds of debt and the options to deal with them - such as consumer proposal, personal bankruptcy, credit counselling, etc. When you leave the meeting you will have the information necessary to help you decide how to obtain the fresh start you need.
We are located in the old Walkerville Post Office. In the picture above, Walkerville Brewing is the building in the background.
We share office space with Crown Realty Corporation.
420 Devonshire Place is located one block west of Walker Road, between Riverside Drive and Wyandotte Street.
