Who are Bankruptcy Trustees?

If you file personal bankruptcy in Canada, a bankruptcy trustee is appointed to administer your bankruptcy estate.

All Canadian bankruptcy trustees are licensed by the Office of the Superintendent of Bankruptcy, a division of the federal government.

Most bankruptcy trustees have a university degree, and many trustees also have an accounting background. It takes on average five years of training, courses, and practical experience to obtain a trustee's license.

In Canada, there are approximately 1,000 licensed bankruptcy trustees.

All bankruptcy trustees listed on MoneyProblems.ca will provide you with a no-charge initial consultation. They will explain all of your alternatives to help you decide whether or not a bankruptcy is the correct option for you.
